I am currently researching Brown(e) ancestry and have gone back as far as George Brown(e) born around 1818 in Maidenhead, Kent. His descendants are known with certainty, and are shown on the family tree. George Browne may have acquired the letter 'e' on the end of his surname through living and working in Ireland. He is recorded in the 1871 England Census after his retirement from the Irish Coastguard Service, spelt as 'Brown' and living in Hythe, Kent, possibly visiting brothers or sisters who lived in this location. He himself may well have grown up in Hythe. See George Brown(e) for more information.
I am very keen to discover his ancestry, and would be pleased to hear from anyone researching the Brown(e) families of Kent around 1800 and who think they can help - even if only to eliminate other families.
